New Music Lists 2008

Tyler Says: "here is some of the good stuff i have been into lately..."
--eddie vedder- into the wild sdtk
--dire straits- brothers in arms
--bastard sons of Johnny Cash-mile markers
--the dark horses

Korp Says: "For the old standbys I like..."
--Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash- Walk Alone
--Cross Canadian Ragweed
--Bruce Springsteen- Magic
--Tragically Hip- World Container

Nic Says: "Like it a Lot"
--Juno Movie Soundtrack

Matt Says: "I've Been Digging the new..."
--Feist- The Reminder
--Band of Horses- Cease to Begin

Paco Says: "I Quit!"
--Baroness - the red - super heavy and southern. Kinda like if Mastodon was really interested in the dukes of hazard. (check out the song "Isak")

--The Sword - Age of Winters -if you're a Black Sabbath fan, but if you are, and you like "stoner rock" buy this. you must like stoner rock sound, otherwise this will just suck. songs about swords and wolves and the like. (check out the song "Freya")

--As Tall As Lions - self-titled - borderline emo-esque stuff (yea, i admit it). But, i think if you dig band of horses may like this. (check out the song "Ghosts of York")

--Lettuce - Rage! - it's there newest. i don't have it yet, but their other stuff is really good. super funky stuff. no vocals, which I prefer on this type of music. (galactic just put out a new album too, i think, but there's a lot of singing) If you don't have it, buy Lettuce's "Outta Here" (check out "the dump")

--Minus the Bear - They Make Beer Commercials like this - definitely listen to a song or two before getting, but I like it a lot. It's definitely alt-rock, but it's slick, like computery, but guitarey. you dig? they have a nack for naming stuff. (check out "Pony Up!")

--Say Hi To Your Mom - like a less talented Interpol/Death cab mix. it's so catchy you have to sing along. assuming you can decipher the muttering. i think the best album is "the impeccable blahs" but there are better individual songs on the others. (check out "Pop Music of the future")

--Gogal Bordello - Gypsey Punk music from the Slavic nations of new york. and yes, this is an accurate description. you can pick any album, they all sound the same. it's great change-up music. you can't listen to it all the time, but when you do throw it on, it's good.

Jake Says: "I have been listening to a ton of... "
--Josh Ritter lately.
--Also like the New Hot Chip,
--Mountain Goats and digging back I can't get enough of
--Tapes N Tapes and
--Wolf Parade. Also might want to check out
--Fiery Furnaces,
--Voxtrot and
--Face to Face.
--The new Spoon album is great too.
